About this course
Robotics with Arduino is LearnPlus's flagship hands-on robotics course for Sri Lankan Grade 7–11 students. Across 14 weeks of live workshops, students assemble, wire and program three complete robots from scratch — a line-following bot, an obstacle-avoiding rover with ultrasonic sensors, and a Bluetooth-controlled robotic gripper-arm operated from a custom mobile app.
The course fee includes a take-home Arduino starter kit (delivered island-wide via Kapruka or PromisedPL) containing an Arduino UNO, sensors (IR, ultrasonic, servo, DC motors), jumper wires, breadboard, multimeter and motor driver. Students learn to read circuit diagrams, solder safely, measure currents and voltages, program in Arduino C/C++ in the official Arduino IDE, and debug both hardware and software problems.
Two teachers join every live workshop — one leads, one helps with kit troubleshooting — so no child is ever stuck. For students in Colombo, we offer optional in-person Saturday workshops at our partner lab where teams can race their bots and try larger challenges. Graduates of this course are well-prepared for our Competition Robotics — WRO Track, IoT & Smart Device Development, and school-level science fair and robotics competitions.
Aligned with the Sri Lankan O/L ICT and A/L Engineering Technology streams. Students need a laptop and a calm work area at home to build their kits.
