Overview

About this level

Level 1 assumes zero experience. Students start by reading a schematic and lighting an LED, then progress through inputs, outputs and sensors until they can write their own Arduino sketches in C/C++. Everything is built on a breadboard — no soldering — so mistakes are safe and quick to fix. By the end, students understand voltage, current and resistance, can wire and program common sensors, and complete a small smart-home build.

Hands-on

Projects you'll build

  • Blink & traffic-light LED sequences
  • Push-button and potentiometer controls
  • Buzzer alarm with an ultrasonic distance sensor
  • Temperature & light monitor
  • Capstone: Smart Home Starter Kit
By the end

What students can do

  • Read a basic circuit diagram and wire it on a breadboard safely
  • Explain voltage, current, resistance and Ohm's law
  • Write, upload and debug Arduino sketches in C/C++
  • Read digital and analog inputs and drive outputs
  • Interface common sensors (ultrasonic, light, temperature)
