Overview

About this level

Level 2 turns electronics into movement. Students learn how motors and drivers work, assemble a 2-wheel-drive chassis, and program it to drive, turn and avoid obstacles. They add servo and stepper motors, then combine sensors with motion so the robot can follow a line and steer around walls on its own — the first fully autonomous build of the programme.

Hands-on

Projects you'll build

  • Drive & steer a 2WD robot with an L298N driver
  • Servo-swept ultrasonic obstacle avoidance
  • Infrared line-following robot
  • Speed & direction control from sensor input
  • Capstone: Autonomous 2WD Robot
By the end

What students can do

  • Explain how DC, servo and stepper motors work
  • Wire and control motors through an L298N driver
  • Assemble a robot chassis and manage power/battery
  • Program drive, turn and speed logic
  • Fuse sensor data with motion for autonomous behaviour
